Loyalty to Friendship is an animated short based on Srđan Aleksić's heroic act. A Serbian-Bosnian, he was killed while protecting his Muslim-Bosnian neighbor from a group of Serbian soldiers — an act emblematic of choosing love and unity over hatred and hostility.
Nina is a first-generation Canadian whose parents are Bosnian refugees from the Yugoslav Wars. They shared how a political climate abruptly divided people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds who had lived together harmoniously in Sarajevo. As a bridge between Western and Balkan communities, she brought this story overseas.
